Every other Tuesday night, Heist Brewery’s Canteen Room has become the vessel for an experimental jazz and funk collaboration with drummer Jesse Lamar Williams at the helm. Williams likens himself and the other artists comprising the collective that is MenAsTree to an Avengers-like cast that will continue to grow and nurture a budding music scene that Charlotte deserves. Think Harlem’s legendary Rucker’s Park, but instead of a ball court, the magic happens on a stage.

The Music Nest at Heist opens the door to local musicians and creators from all genres and will, in the near future, welcome national touring acts and once-in-a-lifetime collaborations. This twice-a-month Tuesday night jazz jam will help reignite some of NoDa’s once-palpable creative collaboration and showcase some incredible local talent we should all be celebrating.
