6x Grammy Award winning co-band leader Robert “Sput” Searight

Headed by Snarky Puppy’s Multi-Grammy winning percussion duo of Robert “Sput” Searight and Nate Werth, Ghost-Note has made their mission very clear on this recent album.  The album puts the rhythms at the forefront, with irresistible, heavy-hitting beats underlying the groups wild live performances.

Virtuostic bass player Dwayne “MonoNeon” Thomas

Ghost notes often are used by electric bassists in popular music, especially in funk, which is characterized by a prominent bass that drives the dance-friendly sound that exploded in the 1970s and formed the roots of hip-hop.

“We don’t want to be another band copycatting Parliament Funkadelic, James Brown or Sly and the Family Stone,” Werth said. “Funk is the foundation of our inspiration, but we’re always taking it to the next level.”

Brooklyn based multi-instrumentalist and Grammy nominated Louis Cato will be in support Friday night at Heist.
