Artist Previews and Set Times – Crown Town Get Down 2

The Crown Town Get Down 2 is set to take place this Saturday at Heist Brewery in NoDa.  The all-day event is scheduled for a 3pm start and will run well past midnight.  $12 tickets for the all-day event will be available at the door.

The family friendly event will feature local vendors and artists exclusively from the Charlotte area that range in styles from singer-songwriter, indie-rock, soul, funk, delta blues, hip-hop, americana, psychedelia, and more.

Lisa De Novo >> 3:00-3:45

Lisa is a girl with big dreams and an even bigger smile.

Lisa De Novo has been singing and writing since she was 10 and picked up guitar at age 18. She calls her music Bubblegum Blues – an eclectic blend of catchy pop music and soulful blues music influenced by artists like Amy Winehouse, Nora Jones, Sia, Ed Sheran, Foster the People, the Cranberries, and Fleetwood Mac.  Lisa is a constant presence in the Charlotte music scene — not only playing in local shows around town but hosting open mics on a weekly basis.

In May 2018, she released her first full-length album — The Big Bang — which is available on all streaming platforms and CD.

 

The Goodnight Brothers Band >> 4:00-4:45

The Goodnight Brothers Band’s trademark is unrestricted songwriting shaped by soul, funk, delta blues, and southern rock.

Started by the two brothers, Glenn and Neal, whose music has been growing for over a decade, they have a sound that is familiar but also their own. Joined by dynamic drummer, Serge Mnatsakanov, and the surgical bass playing of Rob Bowser, their live show features strong vocals and tight “pocket” grooves.

The group is greatly influenced by the pioneers of soul and rock n’ roll of the late 60s and early 70s. Fueled by a desire to create and leave a lasting impression on their audience, they have gained esteem in the NC music scene as a must see show.

 

Uncle Buck >> 5:00-5:45

Uncle Buck is an original rock band from Charlotte, North Carolina. Formed by long time friends in July of 2017, they have exploded onto the regional rock scene — playing over 70 shows in the southeast in their first year.

Uncle Bucks’ debut EP (Produced by Tim Cashion, formerly a touring member of the Bob Seger Bullet Band, and current keyboard player for Grand Funk Railroad) Supermoon, is scheduled for release across all major platforms in early 2019.

The music of Uncle Buck fuses psychedelic, hard rock and blues styles of the 60s’ and 70’s with modern rock styles such as grunge, garage rock and metal.

 

9DayTrip >> 6:00-6:45

9DayTrip is an Americana and Blues-Rock jam band from Salisbury NC.

Formed in 2013, the band in consistently pushing sonic boundaries in their live performances which has taken them to over 50 locations and across 4 states so far.  In 2016 they recorded an EP, with Rob Tavaglione at Catalyst Recording, titled Two Sides To Every Tale, and was nominated for Best Americana Group by the Carolina Music Awards that same year. In 2017,  their single “9 Day Trip” earned them the award for Best Americana Group at the Carolina Music Awards.  In 2018 the band released their first LP, again recorded with Rob Tavaglione, titled Into The Great Unknown.

Although they enjoy the studio, 9DayTrip live performances consist of high energy visual and audible experiences that are unlike any other. Their original story line songs are written based on true life events and have a way of relating directly to the listener.

RevelWood Mission >> 7:00-7:45

Forged out of a common love for timeless rock ‘n’ roll and legendary live performances, RevelWood Mission emerged in 2017 with their first EP release, The Lansing, delivering a soulful, driving new sound to audiences throughout the Southeast.

With a style that is raw and powerful yet intricately woven, their musical tapestry is rich with dynamic guitars, 3-part harmonies, and a commanding rhythm section that brings the listener along for the ride.

At times relentless and at others elegant, RevelWood Mission swings seamlessly between bluesy, riff-driven rock songs and intimate lyrical ballads, displaying well-crafted arrangements that can tell a three minute story or sweep into an epic and unfolding journey.

 

Rat Poison Band >> 8:00-8:45

Rat Poison is an experimental rock band based in Charlotte NC that utilizes elements of blues, funk, jazz and soul to create their rock fusion sound.

Each member brings their unique talent to the table in the creative process as original material is the focus of band.

Rat Poison is: Paul Sires (bass and guitar), Santos Adams (bass and guitar), Jonathan Ziemba (drums), and Laurence Maher (vocals, guitar, bass)

 

The Wormholes >> 9:00-10:00

The Wormholes are a high-powered duo hailing from Charlotte, NC. Their sonic universe consists of a guitar, a drum kit, and a series of interconnected synths, amps, and effect/looper pedals.

This massive sound, produced by only two mere mortals, transcends traditional classification yet taps into elements of post-rock, synth-pop, and psychedelia.

The exploration of this innovative sound yields a captivating, live performance that transports minds to a realm of electronic, textural bliss.

 

ReeCee >> 10:15-11:15

ReeCee is a Charlotte hip-hop artist who earned the Queen City Award for Best Female Hip Hop Artist in 2018. She’s also nominated for a Carolina Music Award in 2019.

ReeCee has networked and performed at over 100 events in Charlotte, Atlanta, and Miami in the past 12 months, showing that she has the drive it takes to win in the music business.

Her work ethic, incredible stage presence, and unique style of music are what set her apart.  ReeCee stands out from other local hip-hop artists by utilizing a live band in her performances.
