Blues Rocker Heather Gillis To Headline Backyard Show This Weekend in Charlotte

Heather Gillis is the complete package as a guitar player, lap steel player, songwriter, singer and arranger.

Gillis and her band will be in Charlotte this weekend to headline a socially distanced backyard show and cookout.  Rising bluegrass ensemble The Trailblazers and local progressive jam act Ad Hoc round out the show.  Tickets are extremely limited (40 max) and are available here.

At 25 years old, Heather has not only formed a following at a local level, but has played alongside and befriended members of The Allman Brothers Band, Col Bruce Hampton, The Lee Boys, North Mississippi All-Stars, Matt Schofield, and many more.

In 2015 Heather was drafted by (legendary Allman Brothers drummer) Butch Trucks to be a member of his touring band, Butch Trucks and the Freight Train Band (2015-2017).  Heather’s live shows are energetic and consist of her original music as well as rock, soul, and roots music.

Based in Rowan County, NC, The Trailblazers add energy and passion to a progressive sound in bluegrass. After forming in 2016, this young band has made a mark in their genre for original music and respect of tradition. The Trailblazers make original music and put their own twist on endless classics.

They are the 2018 IBMA Momentum Band Of The Year, and have graced the stage at Merlefest in 2017 and won the SPBGMA International Band contest in 2018.

Ad Hoc is a jam-oriented blend of groove, funk, and progressive rock. They strive to push their live shows to the outer limits of the universe by showcasing instrumental prowess and original compositions while weaving in carefully chosen cover tunes.
