March Live Music Preview | 10 Charlotte Shows On Your Radar

Trigger Hippy @ Neighborhood Theatre
WED – 3/4 | TICKETS

Co-founded by former Black Crowes drummer Steve Gorman and Nashville bassist/songwriter Nick Govrik, Tigger Hippy is back together after an extended hiatus when they parted ways with singer Joan Osborne and guitarist Jackie Greene.

They’ll be supporting their sophomore release, Full Circle & Then Some, that embodies the music they’ve been chasing since the co-founders met some 15 years ago — country, delta blues, R&B and gospel to southern rock and funk.

Charlotte’s top rock ‘n roll trio, RevelWood Mission, will be in support.

Front Country w/Elonzo Wesley @ Evening Muse
THUR – 3/5 | TICKETS

In today’s crowded musical landscape, it’s hard enough to develop a unique and recognizable sound that can set you apart.

Front Country is a band comprised of multi-instrumentalists, songwriters and composers.

For a band with a genre in their name, their music is a hybrid sound rooted in Americana and traditional music with bluegrass and pop elements also in the mix.  They call it “roots pop” and its easy to agree with them.  As you dig in to their music, you might also hear moments that feel like the classic rock of Fleetwood Mac or the Police, as well as the modern country sounds of the Dixie Chicks or Chris Stapleton.

They’ll be supported by Charlotte based Americana and Folk act Elonzo Wesley

Wild Adriatic @ Heist Brewery
THUR – 3/26 | TICKETS

Rooted in the rowdy spirit of rock & roll, Wild Adriatic has built an international audience on a combination of groove, grit, and guitar-heavy swagger.

With the power trio’s latest EP, Our Time, bandmates Travis Gray, Rich Derbyshire, and Mateo Vosganian got together with Turkuaz band leader David Brandwein, who produced the album.  It finds the band melding their rock & roll core with a broad palette of influences from timeless blues and soul, for a fresh but still signature sound.

They aren’t revivalists; they’re modern men, carrying the torch of melodic, riff-ready, high-energy rock into new territory.
